DMX began to rap in the middle of the 1990s. In May 1998 the rapper released his debut album, It's Dark and HOT. In the following years, he released several other albums including ... And then There Was X, The Great Depression Year of the Dog... again the Redemption of the Beast Grand Champ and Flesh of My Flesh Blood of My Blood. The album... And Then There Was X was awarded an Grammy prize in 2001, for the Best Rap Album. The success of his music was further enhanced by his appearances in such films such as Lords of the Street Belly Top Five - Exit Wounded, Never Die Alone The Bleeding Romeo Must Die Backstage Beyond the Law Lockjaw - Rise of the Kulev Serpent and Fast and Fierce Death Race.
