Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka is an American British musician and sitarist. She was also the very first and youngest female to be awarded the British House of Commons Award. Anoushka is a rising star in Indian sitar. She is the student of Ravi Shankar, and the daughter. Born in 1982, she was raised in London. Her childhood years included a period of time in London in London and New Delhi. In New Delhi, she made her debut at just thirteen years of age. In Encinitas CA in 1999 she received the high-school certificate. Anouskha is yet to be a mature woman however she's got an impressive career in singing and recording. Her father was with her in many performances for several years. She released her debut solo album Anourag in the year 1998. The Grammy Award-winning Live at Carnegie Hall was released two years after her debut solo album. Alongside performing at every major venue, she also has a long stage career. Her career extends beyond music. She released Bapi the love of my life in 2002. This is a picture biography which pays tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she appeared as an Bharat Natyam dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka's career is still developing and she'll continue to accomplish many amazing things in the future. Anoushka shankar is an English born musician who spent her early days between London, Delhi and California. She began studying music at age 9 and performed on the sitar in celebration of the 75th anniversary the birth of her father in Delhi the following year. The father of Anoushka travelled across the world with her and she also gained a variety of experiences. When she was still teenagers, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall during Peter Gabriel's WOMAD concert. The House of Commons Shield was awarded to her from the British Parliament in recognition of being the most renowned Asian Arts musician. She is the only female and is the smallest recipient of this award.
